CITY OF PRINCETON ORDINANCE NUMBER 313
ORDINANCE AMENDING THE PRINCETON CITY CODE WITH RESPECT TO FIRE DEPARTMENT
BE IT ENACTED by the City Council of the City of Princeton, Iowa:
SECTION 06. SECTION MODIFIED.
Chapter 35, Section 06 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Princeton, Iowa, is repealed and the following adopted in lieu thereof:
35.06 ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The department shall elect a Fire Chief and such other officers as its constitution and bylaws may provide, but the election of the Fire Chief shall be subject to the approval of the Council. In case of absence of the Fire Chief, the officer next in rank shall be in charge and have and exercise all the powers of Fire Chief. The Fire Chief will at minimum be certified as a Firefighter I. Should this certifications change, the Fire Chief will be required to obtain the equivalent or higher of the available certifications in fire operations.
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealed.
If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, or phrase of this ordinance shall be adjudged invalid or unconstitutional, such adjudication shall not affect the validity of the ordinance as a whole or any section, subsection, sentence, clause, or phrase hereof not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional.
This ordinance shall become effective upon publication as required by law.
