BOUNDARIES

 

3.01     CORPORATE LIMITS.  The corporate limits of the City are described as follows:

Beginning at the northeast corner of the Southeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of Section 3, Township 79 North, Range 5 East of the Fifth P.M.; thence west along the north line of the Southeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of said Section 3 to the northwest corner thereof; thence north along the east line of the Northwest Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of Section 3 to the north line of Section 3; thence continuing north along the east line of the Southwest Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of Section 34, Township 80 North, Range 5 East of the Fifth P.M. to the northeast corner of the said Southwest Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of Section 34; thence east along the south line of the Northeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of Section 34 to the east line of Section 34; thence north along the east line of Section 34 a distance of 1633.5 feet; thence north 30º33' east 586.98 feet to the southerly line of U.S. Highway No. 67; thence northwesterly along the southerly line of said U.S. Highway No. 67 to its intersection, in the Northeast Quarter of said Section 34, with the southerly line of the Pinneo Grove Road (Scott County Road No. 117); thence southwesterly and westerly along the southerly line of the said Pinneo Grove Road to its intersection with the west line of the Southeast Quarter of Section 34; thence south along the west line of the Southeast Quarter of Section 34 to the north line of Section 3, Township 79 North, Range 5 East of the Fifth P.M.; thence west along the north line of said Section 3 to the northwest corner thereof; thence south along the west line of the Northwest Quarter of said Section 3 to the centerline of the Lost Grove and Princeton Road; thence southeasterly along the centerline of the Lost Grove and Princeton Road to the north line of the Southwest Quarter of said Section 3; thence west along the north line of the Southwest Quarter of said Section 3 to a point which is 33 feet east of the west line of said Section 3; thence south, parallel to and 33 feet east of the west line of the Southwest Quarter of Section 3 to the north line of Section 10, Township 79 North, Range 5 East of the Fifth P.M.; thence continuing south parallel to and 33 feet east of the west line of said Section 10 to the south line of the Northwest Quarter of said Section 10; thence east along the south line of the Northwest Quarter of Section 10 to the southeast corner thereof; thence north along the east line of the Northwest Quarter of said Section 10 to the north line of Section 10; thence east along the north line of Section 10 to a point which is 25.72 chains west of the northeast corner of Section 10; thence south 19.45 chains; thence east 25.72 chains, more or less, to the east line of Section 10; thence south along the east line of Section 10 to the southeast corner of the Northeast Quarter of Section 10; thence east along the north line of the Southwest Quarter of Section 11, Township 79 North, Range 5 East of the Fifth P.M. to the northeast corner of the Northwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of said Section 11; thence south 874.85 feet along the east line of the Northwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of Section 11; thence south 71º53' east 1,117 feet; thence south 38º08' east 334.95 feet; thence south 60º46' east 318.3 feet to the westerly line of U.S. Highway No. 67; thence southerly along the westerly line of U.S. Highway No. 67 to the south line of said Section 11; thence east along the south line of Section 11 to the easterly line of U.S. Highway No. 67; thence northerly along the easterly line of U.S. Highway No. 67 to the southwesterly corner of Tract A hereinafter described; thence easterly along the southerly line of said Tract A to the southeasterly corner thereof; thence northerly along the easterly line of said Tract A to the northeasterly corner thereof; thence westerly along the northerly line of said Tract A to the northwesterly corner thereof which is also the easterly right-of-way line of said U.S. Highway No. 67; thence northerly along the easterly line of U.S. Highway No. 67 to the northerly line of the South Half of said Section 11; thence east along the northerly line of the South Half of Section 11 to the Iowa or westerly bank of the Mississippi River; thence northerly along the said Iowa or westerly bank of the Mississippi River to the south line of the North Half of the North Half of Section 2, Township 79 North, Range 5 East of the Fifth P.M.; thence west along the south line of the North Half of the North Half of said Section 2 to the point of beginning.

TRACT A

Commencing at the southwest corner of Section 11, Township 79 North, Range 5 East of the Fifth P.M.; thence east 4 rods; thence south 82º30' east along the southerly line of grantor’s property (as recited by that certain deed of conveyance to Claus J. Engelhart filed for record February 25, 1911, and recorded in Book 67 Land Deeds, page 461) for a distance of 2625 feet to the centerline of the main track of the Davenport, Rock Island & Northwestern Railroad Company as said track is now located; thence north 17º29' east along the centerline of the main track of said railroad company as now located for a distance of 698.8 feet to the point of beginning of Tract A; thence north 72º31' west a distance of 50 feet to the westerly right-of-way of said railroad company (being also the easterly right-of-way line of U.S. Highway No. 67); thence north 17º29' east along the westerly line of the right-of-way of said railroad company (and the easterly right-of-way line of U.S. Highway No. 67) a distance of 284.4 feet; thence south 72º31' east a distance of 100 feet to the easterly right-of-way line of said railroad company; thence continuing south 72º31' east at right angles to the centerline of the main track of said railroad company to the westerly line of that certain Flowage Right acquired by the United States Government along the westerly bank of the Mississippi River (said Flowage Right being designated “Flowage Iowa No. 160”); thence south 10ºl' west along the westerly line of said Flowage Right to a point which is south 72º31' east 130.18 feet from the point of beginning; thence north 72º31' west for a distance of 80.18 feet to the intersection with the easterly right-of-way line of the D.R.I. & N.W. Railroad Company; thence continuing north 72º31' west a distance of 50 feet to the point of beginning of Tract A.
